This “makerspace” functions as a communal learning environment where artists have access to a variety of studios and workshops as well as shared recreational areas. The inclusion of spaces such as the cafe, lounge, and gallery serve to encourage artists to gather, support, and share, during their creation process.

Using found objects as a prominent design element throughout the space is intended to ignite innovation. The idea is to nurture a mindset in which pipes are not simply fixtures for plumbing, and in which words like “old” and “broken” become the driving force for creation.
